A successful heating retrofit delivered by Leinster Heat Pumps in Dunlavin, upgrading an existing home to high-efficiency, low-carbon comfort.
The installer replaced the legacy system with a Viessmann Vitocal 151‑A R290 monobloc heat pump, paired with KERS+ for enhanced efficiency. To improve indoor air quality and reduce ventilation heat loss, single‑room heat recovery vents were installed throughout the property using KERS+ Single Room Heat Recovery Vents.
For maximum energy reuse, the home also integrated KERS+ heat recovery vents, capturing extract air heat and returning tempered fresh air to each space independently.
Ultra-low carbon heating — natural refrigerant (R290) with minimal GWP
Fast retrofit installation — all-in-one cylinder-integrated heat pump design
Improved air quality — balanced ventilation with room-by-room heat recovery
Optimised energy reuse — reduced ventilation heat loss without sacrificing comfort
Installer-friendly controls — simple commissioning and end-user operation
The retrofit achieved a significant reduction in energy demand and carbon emissions while delivering:
Consistent, responsive heating
Noticeably fresher, better-circulated indoor air
A future-proof system ready for long-term efficiency and sustainability
“This project shows that retrofit doesn’t have to be complicated. The integrated cylinder and single-room heat recovery vents made for a clean, efficient and high-comfort install — and the homeowner sees the difference every day.” — Leinster Heat Pumps
