Project Overview: This project involved the full refurbishment of a residential property, including the installation of a Viessmann Vitocal 151-A air-source heat pump system. The project provided efficient heating solutions for both the ground floor (with underfloor heating) and the upper floor (with aluminum radiators). The system integrated a 100e thermostat for precise temperature control and a seamless indoor and outdoor unit setup. The heat pump system was designed to ensure energy efficiency, sustainability, and long-term comfort in the home.

Key Components:

  1. Viessmann Vitocal 151-A Heat Pump:
    • Type: Air-source heat pump
    • Outdoor Unit: Mounted on the roof of the boiler house, ensuring optimal performance and minimal disruption to the home’s aesthetics.
    • Indoor Unit: Located in the plant room with the associated manifold and distribution equipment.
    • Efficiency: Designed to deliver high efficiency, reducing energy consumption while providing consistent heating and hot water throughout the home.
    • Capacity: Suitable for the size and thermal load requirements of the home.
  2. Underfloor Heating (Ground Floor):
    • The ground floor was equipped with underfloor heating, providing even and comfortable heat distribution.
    • Installation: The underfloor heating system was embedded in the flooring, enabling low-temperature heating that worked seamlessly with the Viessmann Vitocal heat pump.

  3. Aluminum Radiators (Upstairs):
    • The upper floor was fitted with sleek and stylish aluminum radiators, which provided effective, rapid heating where needed.

  4. 100e Thermostat:

System Configuration:

  • Outdoor Unit: The Viessmann Vitocal 151-A’s outdoor unit was mounted on the roof of the boiler house. This ensured optimal airflow and reduced the footprint of the system within the property.
  • Indoor Unit: The indoor unit, located in the plant room, was connected to the underfloor heating manifold and the aluminum radiators. The system was configured for both heating and hot water supply.
  • Plumbing & Distribution: The system was connected to the underfloor heating manifold, ensuring optimal flow and distribution of warm water throughout the ground floor.
  • Thermostat Control: The 100e thermostat was strategically installed for easy access and control of the temperature settings for both the ground floor and upstairs.

Scope of Work:

  1. Planning & Design:
    • The home’s thermal needs were assessed, and the heat pump system was appropriately sized.
